1. 2016 Methven Family Vineyards Riesling Beehive Eola-Amity Hills
Sweet on the tongue, but not in a nectarous way. The crisp acidity on the finish keeps this wine very balanced.

2. 2014 Bergstrom Old Stones Chardonnay Willamette Valley Oregon
This cuvée is crafted to compete with village Burgundies. Principally Temperance Hill fruit, it more than does the job, with great mouthfeel, and a succulent tangy ripe mix of citrus and stone fruits. There's a lick of caramel apple coming through also, and the wine is bursting with bright flavors across the board. Rated 93 Wine Enthusiast Magazine

3. 2015 Mer Soleil Chardonnay Reserve Santa Lucia Highlands California
Complex and ultra-rich, the 2015 Mer Soleil Reserve Chardonnay exhibits tremendous density on the palate. The wine's exotic flavors of core and stone fruit, as well as a creamy accent, make it satisfying from start to finish. Rated 92 Wine.com

4. 2015 Alegre Valgañón Blanco Rioja Spain
A serious white, tasty, austere nose and with a palate of great texture. Hay yellow color. Fennel nose, apples, white pepper. The palate is Serious and complex, with vibrant freshness that shows a silky texture and clean persistence. thespanishacquisition

5. 2015 Do Ferreiro Rebisaca Rias Baixas Spain
The one non-Albariño wine the Méndez family produce is the Rebisaca, a blend of 70% Albariño, with 25% Treixadura and 5% Loureiro from Condado de Tea, the younger of which was the excellent 2015 Rebisaca. Treixadura and Loureiro are fermented separately and then blended with the Albariño, making sure the strong balsamic aromas of Loureiro do not overpower the blend. The palate shows some austerity, too, but revealed the inner power, concentration and balance of the year.

6. 2015 Darting Riesling Durkheimer Nonnengarten Kabinett Pfalz Germany
Rieslings from the Mosel are aromatic and fruity. When they are from the warmer Pfalz, however, the spicy side of Riesling shows itself. Ginger and pineapple aromas dominate here. The palate is fresh and bright, rich in red apple and quince fruit. The finish is quite clean despite its touch of residual sugar, with lingering spice and floral notes.

7. 2016 Goodfellow Family Cellars Pinot Gris Willamette Valley Oregon
A classic lemon-gold in the glass, the wine opens with aromas of smoke, raw Brazil nuts, lemon zest, and acacia blossom. Full bodied yet deft on the palate, This Gris presents subtle notes of smoke, lemon juice, quinine, and salty minerals. Crisp, coiled, and briskly acidic, the wine finishes long and taut with a latent core of complexity.

8. The Chook Sparkling Shiraz McLaren Vale Australia
Lots of licorice and tea leaf with meat and blackberry aromas. Full body, soft and lightly velvety sparkling red wine. Flavorful finish.
