Absidis Brut Cava NV DO Cava —40% Xarel.lo, 30% Parellada, 30% Macabeo
Emendis is so named after the first woman recorded as living on our estate -centred on a Manor House in the Castellet and Gornal area (Penedès, Barcelona) and of which there is written record dating back to 1186. This Project is our personal homage to the continuing history of these lands that we continue to work in the traditional manner handed down from generation to generation. The Valles family, which has grown wines on this land for generations, have now put the project in the hands of a young team with particular
expertise in their areas.
2010 Gran Feudo Chardonnay (unoaked – DO Navarra) 100% Chardonnay
Founded in 1647, Bodegas Chivite is one of the oldest wine producing dynasties in Spain. Over eleven generations, the firm has grown from its original establishment in Navarra to estates in Rioja, Rueda and Ribera del Duero, and become the most important, as well as one of the most respected, producers and exporters of Navarra´s wines.
2009 Alta Plata Verdejo (DO Rueda)
Bodegas Antaño is a family owned winery located in the town of Rueda, in the heart of old Castile. The owner is Jose Luis Ruiz Solaguren, the founder of the “Jose Luis” chain of tapas restaurants famous throughout Spain. The winery is a genuine museum setting with thousands of meters of restored centenary underground galleries. Verdejo as a grape varietal has gained momentum in recent years and is now enjoying very strong demand both domestically in Spain and internationally. For us, Alta Plata is one of the best examples of the varietal, with unmatched crispness and citrus flavors.
“Bright yellow. Pure, vibrant aromas of lemon thyme, pear and white pepper. Zesty and pure on the palate, with citrus and orchard fruit flavors joined by a suggestion of herbs. The finish is slightly hard-edged, but this is refreshing and very easy to drink.”INTERNATIONAL WINE CELLAR, 09/10
2009 ESENZIA Old Vine Garnacha (Bajo Aragon, Spain) VT Bajo Aragón—100% Grenache (55-60 year old vines)
Bodegas TEMPORE has grown from the passion for wine enjoyed by the Yago-Aznar family, whose latest generation of viticulturists are now taking the reigns of the family enterprise. We first met Paula Yago, the winemaker, at a trade show and have developed a close relationship since. Our close collaboration and friendship led to the birth of ESENZIA. The old, gnarly vine you see on the label is an actual picture of the vineyard taken in January, 2010.
“The fruit for the 2009 Esenzia was sourced from vines averaging 55 years of age. Purple-colored, it gives up an expressive nose of fragrant black cherry and violets. Intense and mouth-filling on the palate. Drink it over the next 3 years, it is an outstanding value.”ROBERT PARKER’S WINE ADVOCATE, 6/10
2010 ESENZIA Old Vine Tempranillo (Bajo Aragon, Spain) VT Bajo Aragón—100% Tempranillo (50-year-old vines)
Made from organic grapes. Bodegas TEMPORE has grown from the passion for wine enjoyed by the Yago Aznar family, which, following generations of viticulturists, has extensive knowledge of the vineyard and know that the quality of a wine must be based on excellent raw materials. We first met Paula Yago at a trade show and have developed a close relationship since. Our friendship led to the birth of ESENZIA, which was closely developed between ENYE and TEMPORE as an exclusive selection.
“The 2010 Old Vine Tempranillo displays a similar personality but with darker blackberry fruit. It is an easy to understand, spicy, forward wine that will provide plenty of enjoyment over the next 4 years.”WINE ADVOCATE (6/11)
Maula & Misery Mouse Malbec 2010 (Mendoza, Argentina)“Tango red color. Intense and passionate. Red fruit aromas on a bottom which releases blackberry and plumb, typical of grapes grown on high-altitude vineyards in Valle de Uco. Medium concentration, rounded and sweet tannins, greater than the price segment.” “Like the maula cat plays with the miserable mouse…” —Carlos Gardel
